Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, apprenticeship training in various trades, 301 vacancies available, and both ITI-qualified candidates and fresher candidates are eligible to apply

Naval Dockyard Apprentice Eligibility

Education: Depending on the trade, different requirements apply for the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai’s apprenticeship program. Candidates must possess an ITI qualification (NCVT/SCVT) for the majority of trades. However, candidates with at least a Std 8th pass are eligible for trades including Pattern Maker, Tailor (G), I&CTSM, and Rigger. Candidates must also have passed Standard 10th grade in order to be considered for Shipwright (Steel).

Age requirement: According to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship rules, candidates must be at least 14 years old, however there is no higher age limit for apprenticeship training. The Apprentices Act of 1961 stipulates that the minimum age for hazardous trades is eighteen years old. Additionally, candidates must fulfill the required physical requirements, which include a minimum height of 150 cm, a weight of at least 45 kg, normal vision, and no impairment of internal or external organs.
