Fourth Indian-American student found dead in US in less than two weeks

Sameer Kamath, a student at Purdue University, was found dead in a natural preserve.

The Warren County Coroner’s office reported that an Indian-American student at Purdue University, who was seeking a doctorate in mechanical engineering, was found dead in a nature preserve on Monday evening.

The student, identified as Sameer Kamath, 23, was a citizen of the United States and had graduated from Purdue University with a master’s degree in the same field in August 2023, according to the coroner’s office.

At approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, Kamath’s body was discovered at the Crow’s Grove Nature Preserve, located at 3300 North Warren County Road 50 West in Williamsport. The preserve is a part of the Niches Land Trust.

These data were provided in a news release that Warren County Coroner Justin Brummett released on Tuesday afternoon.
