Ratan Tata Passes Away at 86: Ratan Naval Tata, the iconic industrialist, philanthropist, and former chairman of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. He was 86 years old.

The veteran businessman had been admitted following a sudden drop in blood pressure, leading to his transfer to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) when his condition worsened.

Expressing his condolences on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute, saying, “Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul, and an extraordinary human being. His leadership of one of India’s oldest and most prestigious companies was exemplary. Beyond business, his humility and dedication to societal betterment will be remembered by all.”

Harsh Goenka, a prominent industrialist, also expressed his grief on X, writing, “The clock has stopped ticking. The Titan passes away. Ratan Tata was a beacon of integrity, ethical leadership, and philanthropy. He leaves behind an indelible legacy that spans beyond the business world.”

Earlier Dismissed Health Concerns: Just days before, on October 7, Tata had taken to social media to dismiss rumors about his health, assuring followers that he was undergoing routine check-ups for age-related conditions. “There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits,” he had stated, urging the media to avoid spreading misinformation.

Ratan Tata’s Legacy: Ratan Tata’s influence on the Tata Group and the broader Indian economy is monumental. He assumed the role of chairman of Tata Sons in 1991, steering the conglomerate through global expansions and transformative projects like the founding of Tata Teleservices in 1996 and taking Tata Consultancy Services public in 2004.

Tata’s tenure has left a lasting legacy, not only shaping one of India’s most prominent business houses but also inspiring millions with his ethical leadership and philanthropy.
